Main Street Boot Camp provides an in-depth overview and interactive discussion of each area of the Main Street Approach®: Organization, Design, Promotion, and Economic Restructuring. This workshop is open to all Oregon communities and is recommended for merchant associations, Mayors and City Councils, city managers and economic development staff, chambers of commerce, city planners, Main Street managers, downtown property and business owners, civic groups, and interested citizens. Speakers

Sheri Stuart is the coordinator of Oregon Main Street (OMS) which is administered by the State Historic Preservation Office (Oregon Parks and Recreation Department). OMS helps communities throughout the state preserve and revitalize the economy, appearance, and image of their traditional business districts using a range of services and assistance to meet the needs of communities interested in revitalization. Prior to her current position, Sheri worked for the National Main Street Center for eight years. Before joining NMSC, Sheri served as executive director of the Port Townsend Main Street Program (WA) for eight years. During her tenure, the program received numerous state awards as well as recognition in the Great American Main Street Awards.  Most recently, Sheri was the assistant coordinator of the Washington State Main Street Program.

Scott Day is the principal of Urban Development Services which specializes in design management and retail economics for commercial revitalization. The firm seeks to develop approaches that are market driven and encourage pedestrian oriented development. Urban Development Services grew naturally out of principal Scott’s 17 years of experience as Senior Program Associate with the National Main Street Center. Scott has a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has worked for the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension Agency, where he specialized in urban design, community planning, and development.  He is the former Executive Director for Bluffton Revitalization Inc. (Bluffton, IN).

Parking: All-day parking for just a few dollars is available in the Middleford and Evergreen garages, in the lots between 8th & 10th on Central, in the lot off Riverside Avenue at 10th (behind the Library) and in the lot off Riverside between 8th and Main Streets. Purchase a "Pay & Display" permit from the kiosk in the parking lot or garage.

There are FREE three-hour parking spaces on the ground floor of the Evergreen parking garage (between 7th & 8th on Front, two blocks from the HEC).
